Electrolytes without stevia
You're not imagining the aftertaste
'Best electrolyte powder without stevia' is now a whole search category of its own. The complaints are consistent: a bitter or metallic finish, and for some people bloating and stomach trouble. If that's you, every stevia-sweetened market leader is a non-starter — which, until recently, meant almost the whole shelf.
Option one: allulose
A rare sugar that tastes much closer to sugar, with none of stevia's finish. It's what we use in Gentle and Night. It costs more, which is most of why the big brands haven't switched.
Option two: a little real sugar
For hard exercise and true rehydration, some sugar genuinely helps — glucose is part of how your gut absorbs sodium. A small, declared amount beats a sweetener you can't stand. What we object to is 11g in a drink marketed for all-day, everyday use.
Option three: nothing at all
Our Pure pack has no sweetener, no flavour system and no colour — minerals that disappear into coffee, broth or sparkling water. It tastes of minerals. For a growing number of daily users, that's exactly the trade they want.
